As we have discussed previously good design needs to consider all the user and operational requirements.
The expanded design requirements centre around the way that the boat is to be used.
  1. commercial load carrying
  2. commercial boat for hire (holiday hire)
  3. Private use for leisure (occasional use for holidays and weekends)
  4. Private use for leisure (extended seasonal cruising with a defined extent of the network to be travelled )
  5. Private use for leisure (live-aboard constant cruising)
  6. Private use for leisure (live-aboard mainly static)
Each of the above categories of use will have their own particular layout arrangements, technical solutions for services and importantly style for both the interior design and layout of external spaces.

In this discussion we are discounting the first category (A) and are focussing on B to F.
To this end the Floating Ohm Design team have optimised the hull design for maximising both the internal volume dedicated to the accommodation and the external deck spaces fore and aft, at the same time optimising the propulsive efficiency.
We also focus on the engineering systems design in order to deliver a solution that is robust, easy to maintain, intuitive to operate and that will require the very least in user interaction. It just needs to work!
